"... Bring up your dog as if you were a dog – not a human. And also interpret all
of its reactions in the canine view, because the dog’s
perceiving and interpreting its environment and experiences is different from that of a human
– because it is a dog. The elementary thing is the PACK and the patterns of the pack:
the hierarchy, the protection of the cubs (with their typical cub behavior), and alert
signals (growling, pressing, biting) towards all of those who fail to observe the laws of the
pack. The fact is not that the dogs set the way of our lives. But we breed canine beasts –
however domesticated, they are still beasts; and if we bring them up in their environment
and use their language, it will be good. If we persistently keep trying to subordinate them
in the human way, we are headed down the road to ruin. We are not absolute rulers of
dogs – it is only their will to live by our side. They don’t intrude upon us, and they are
also capable of surviving without us. They can live WITH US or live BESIDE US. We can
either make one pack, or live our lives separately. What people choose depends on each
one – the dogs are clear about their choice."

For several years, each year twice, FALCO TRAINING AND LEISURE SESSIONS have been held. It is an event that enables everybody who is interested in the natural canine communication to try in practice and learn about the principles of that all. Seeing a plentiful pack of dogs and bitches of various breeds and watching their mutual communicationis something that can hardly be described - it must be experienced! |
Not every problem can be solved by means of answering a question in the Consulting Service – the cause of a particular problem is often complicated and may not rise from the dog itself; sometimes, the problem cannot be solved without direct contact with the dog and its owner. That is why the FALCO TRAINING SERVICE has been developed, being based on the principle of direct work with the client and his dog, using the methods of natural canine communication and knowledge of the canine ethogram and pack behavior. |

The relation between humans and dogs has been forming for centuries. Somewhile the dog is condemned; otherwhile it is worshiped and reputed as the best friend of a human. Many superstitions and misconceptions about dogs have still been kept among people. Therefore, I will continuously publish articles and essays here concerning the topic "human vers. dog" to help those who view the dog as a potential manslayer. Let me paraphrase a well-known proverb: "The dog is the best friend of a human and not his worst enemy." |
The destinies of dogs are the same interesting as those of humans. Before they reach a person capable of appreciating their love, also dogs often have to overcome bad periods of life that are rich in cruel mistreating and poor in the real joy. Their strong character is also approved by the fact that in overwhelming majority of cases they don’t even get broken down by chains, cotes or crates; in spite of this all, they still retain positive relation to humans. Another evidence of their personality is the fact that they always change their owners in some way - and always to the better. |

I'd like to dedicate this page to all dogs who have ever experienced or are now experiencing the "kindness" of a dog shelter - an institution that would not even have to exist unless human cruelty, arrogance and ignorance towards living beings. In these pages on dog shelters, I want to give a chance to all forlorn dogs, as well as to all people willing to take a dog from a shelter, and also to shelter workers interested in placing their wards in good hands. |
Many dogs who have ended up in shelters would soon find a new home - unfortunately, in most cases the range of these institutions is limited by the borders of the local district. Behind the shelter fencing, however, there live many beautiful intelligent doggies with gloomy destinies, whose frequent misfortune is also the fact that simply nobody knows about them. That's why I want to give these doggies a chance. |
The title of this chapter is intentionally written in inverted commas to immediately make clear the fact that this term has been created artificially and has no foundation in the biological view. The real fighting dogs used to be applied many hundreds years ago, for instance in the Ancient Rome (they were various Moloss-like breeds). But nothing like that exists today. There are groups of hound breeds, herdkeeper breeds and others, but the list of technical terms does not include any breed referred to as “fighting”. |
Many books only publish photography material of certain breed characteristics, but, well, we all know that each dog looks different. As I want this page to be more than just another dog encyclopedia, I have decided to take hold of this matter in a somewhat different way: The photographic material is supplied by you - my readers. |
